The final phase
The builders finished around 4 months late (don't they always?) at the beginning of June. From then on it was a case of ordering all of the furnishings and fixtures as well as all the electrical items for the kitchen etc. We sourced much of the furniture in England (including the sofas and the oak furniture), as well as getting some pieces from shops in France. The bed supports and mattresses were from Ikea, as was the dining table and the large mirror in the living area.
Because of the plugs we bought all of the electricals online in France, despite the prices always being higher here than in the UK. It's amazing that you can never just go to one retailer to always get the cheapest price, but that you often just have to buy one thing from one place, one thing from another and so on.
